TimePicker and TimeRange

Purpose

A time of day from an hour grid and a minute grid; or a start and an end.

Signature

pub struct TimePicker<Msg = crate::callback::Callback> { .. }

impl TimePicker {
pub fn new<R1: crate::callback::IntoMsg<Msg>, R2: crate::callback::IntoMsg<Msg>>(
hour: u32,
minute: u32,
on_hour: impl Fn(u32) -> R1 + 'static,
on_minute: impl Fn(u32) -> R2 + 'static,
) -> Self;
}
pub struct TimeRange<Msg = crate::callback::Callback> { .. }

impl TimeRange {
pub fn new<R1: crate::callback::IntoMsg<Msg>>(
start: (u32, u32),
end: (u32, u32),
on_change: impl Fn(Endpoint, TimeField, u32) -> R1 + 'static,
) -> Self;
}

Example

Rendered preview of the TimePicker & TimeRange demo

From frus-examples/widgets/src/features/inputs/widgets/time_picker.rs:

//! `TimePicker` and `TimeRange` — a time of day picked from an hour grid and a minute
//! grid; `TimeRange` is two of them, for a start and an end. Times always come back in
//! 24-hour form, whatever the picker displays.

Properties

TypeMethodArgumentEffect
TimePicker.hour12()—Switches to 12-hour: a 1-to-12 grid + an AM/PM toggle; the preview shows 12-hour time. The messages emitted stay in 24-hour time.
TimePicker.minute_step()step: u32Sets the minute step offered (1–60, clamped). Defaults to 5.
TimePicker.dial_text_style()style: TextStyle—
TimePicker.preview_text_style()style: TextStyleThe HH:MM line's type, over the theme's and the framework's.
TimePicker.help_text_style()style: TextStyle—
TimeRange.label_text_style()style: TextStyleThe "Start" and "End" headings' type, over the theme's and the framework's.
TimeRange.hour12()—Switches both pickers to 12-hour (AM/PM).
TimeRange.minute_step()step: u32Sets the minute step of both pickers (1–60).

Behaviour

TimePicker

A time picker.

TimeRange

A time range (a start → end slot), the temporal counterpart of the dual calendar (crate::DatePicker::range_dual): two TimePickers labelled "Start" and "End", side by side. A single on_change(endpoint, field, value) callback receives every change (values always 24-hour); the application decides how to update its state.
